JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the day-to-day security racing operation, administration and supervision of the security team ensuring the protection of Woodbine Mohawk Park assets and the safety of its guests and employees. The Security Manager will maintain staff development, awareness, implementation, and compliance of the security programs, relevant policies, and procedures. The Security Manager reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Physical Security.

Experience developing investigative strategies and conducting investigations of a complex / sensitive nature.
Experience leading change management initiatives : being adaptable and responsive to changes in service demands and emerging issues.
Experience implementing effective compliance and enforcement strategies, building enforcement partnerships, supporting stakeholder involvement, and performance measurement.
Experience leading a team of staff to achieve corporate and department objectives by encouraging teamwork, innovation, participation, and staff development.
Demonstrated commitment to guest service principles.
Highly developed interpersonal, human relations, written and oral communication, conflict resolution, project management, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
High-level risk awareness and risk management. This position provides functional guidance in the areas of personnel security, physical security, life safety systems, information security, threat and risk assessment and business continuity planning.
Experience of writing policy, standing order procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels.
Sound judgment and decision‑making skills, with a 'hands on', problem‑solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
Proficient in the use of and knowledge of computer systems (e.g. Word, Excel, Access Control, and Video Management Systems).
Solid working knowledge of AGCO regulations, Woodbine Entertainment Policies and Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Liquor License Act, Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code, other related provincial statutes.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the provisions of applicable Federal, Provincial, Municipal statutes, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code and AGCO regulations.
Demonstrated ability to upgrade knowledge through courses, training, and professional development opportunities.
Education and Experience
Post‑secondary education in law or law enforcement, public administration, business administration management, or an approved equivalent combination of education, certification / accreditation, and / or relevant experience.
Security Certification from ASIS (PSP, CPP, or PCI) is an asset.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Security Management role.
