Guardteck Security is currently seeking On-Call Security Officers to join our team in Kamloops, BC . This role offers the opportunity to work with one of the best-managed security companies in Western Canada and gain valuable experience in a retail / mall environment.

Responsibilities :

Follow Guardteck and client policies to maintain a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly environment.

Conduct regular patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activities.

Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, and disturbances.

Use verbal de-escalation skills to manage and resolve conflicts professionally.

Maintain a professional presence while providing excellent customer service to tenants and visitors.

Document incidents and daily activities accurately using company software.

Qualifications :

BST Required, AST Preferred

OFA Level 1 (with CPR and AED) Required, OFA Level 2 Preferred

Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License (asset)

Minimum 6 months of security experience, preferably in a retail or mall environment.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Professional, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.

Must be available for on-call / casual shifts, with potential for part-time hours in December.

Shift Details :

Typical shift timings are 0800–1600, 1600–0000, and casual shifts may be scheduled anywhere between 0800–2300 based on operational needs.
