Senior Safety Advisor

Raise is hiring a Senior Safety Advisor for Our Client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
This position is a thirteen (13) month contract located in Calgary, Alberta. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward.
Description
The Safety Advisor in this role, will play a key role in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health and wellness programs for employees.
Organize the roll out of any new or modified policies, processes or procedures; and ensure effective processes are in place and providing health and wellness expertise and guidance to business partners, facilitating their decision making processes
Accountabilities
- Responsible for planning, implementing and administering complex health and wellness programs and / or projects (e.g. mental health campaigns, enterprise health challenges, etc.);
- Identify and assess the wellness and health risks associated with facilities, processes, equipment and materials;
- Keep abreast of emerging changes, industry trends and issues for the purpose of developing recommendations in response to changes to mitigate risk and communicating findings to key stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial / state and municipal regulations and legislation
- Working closely with field safety specialists / coordinators, employees and managers to impart the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize psychological safety hazards;
- Participate in or lead wellness design reviews, risk assessment reviews,
- Identify and maintain wellness documentation and records to meet leader requirements as well as to provide data for problem solving and decision making; -
- Liaise with business partners and other key stakeholders to resolve issues when competing interests may conflict with each other and / or company policy;
- Liaise with business partners, contractors, management and other external stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and met;
- Provide support for Emergency Management situations;
- Coach and mentor peers and leadership in the area of health and wellness.
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and implementing health and wellness programs.
- Strong understanding of current health and wellness trends and best practices.
- Experience with organizing the roll out of new or modified policies, processes or procedures
- Knowledge of compliance with federal, provincial / state and municipal regulations and legislation
- Post-secondary education in a health or safety-related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety) or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
