Our client, a global leader in their industry, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to join their team in Cambridge, On. Renowned for their innovative approach and end-to-end solutions, this manufacturer is committed to exceeding customer expectations by providing a comprehensive range of advanced filtration products and exceptional service.Position Overview : As a Buyer, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring a seamless flow of materials and equipment to support high-performance manufacturing operations. This hands-on opportunity offers the chance to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced steel industry environment, driving operational improvements and maintaining world-class standards.Key Responsibilities : Manage purchasing activities, inventory control, and supply chain functions with a strong focus on steel and industrial filtration products.Safeguard a consistent supply of necessary materials, promptly addressing supply issues that could affect production schedules.Negotiate pricing and schedules with vendors; proactively follow up to guarantee timely delivery of orders.Collaborate daily with Production Management and Engineering teams to clarify specifications and resolve delivery or material concerns.Serve as a liaison between departments to confirm order details, specification requirements, and delivery schedules.Partner with Quality and Vendor teams to resolve non-conformance issues and coordinate vendor returns.Execute procurement of products and materials, supporting both ongoing needs and special projects.Ensure vendor compliance with agreed contracts, terms, lead times, and cost benchmarks.Prepare regular reporting, including monthly performance analyses and process improvement documentation.Utilize procurement software and ERP systems to manage purchases efficiently.Review and approve departmental requisitions and secure goods / services as required.Monitor, assess, and report on maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) inventory and vendor performance.Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders through effective communication and service excellence.Lead and support continuous process improvement initiatives tied to MRO sourcing and purchasing.Uphold compliance with established industry regulations (e.g., ASME Section VIII) and company practices.Qualifications : Diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.3 or more years of dedicated purchasing / procurement experience, including manufacturing.Ability to read blueprints requiredExperience purchasing steel an assetExcellent analytical capabilities, proficiency in interpreting data and trends to inform decisions.Proven success in supplier negotiation and driving continuous improvement.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.Experience with ERP systems an assetWhat we offer : Compensation based on experience $60,000 - $75,000Health and Dental BenefitsProfit SharingRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
