One of our automotive clients in Chatham, ON region is looking for a Material Analyst for their manfacturing facility.

Pay - $55-$80k
Key Responsibilities
Material Planning and Procurement :
Forecast, plan, and procure raw materials and components to support production schedules, ensuring material availability aligns with manufacturing needs.
Analyze and optimize inventory levels to prevent production delays while minimizing holding costs.
Inventory Control and Management :
Maintain accurate inventory records, track inventory turnover, and implement strategies to prevent material shortages or excess.
Conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and generate reports for management review.
Supplier Coordination and Relationship Management :
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials, negotiate terms, and address quality or delivery issues.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, monitor supplier performance, and evaluate alternative sourcing options.
Data Analysis and Reporting :
Utilize data analytics tools to monitor material flow, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
Prepare and present regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and supplier performance to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work closely with production, quality, logistics, and engineering teams to support changes in material requirements, resolve bottlenecks, and improve process efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and cost-saving measures.
Compliance and Documentation :
Ensure all materials comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records for audits and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive industry.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience with continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
