The Applications Developer's primary focus is to work as part of an agile SCRUM team to develop innovative solutions to meet requirements provided by Product Owners and Customers. This will include improvements to existing products and bug fixes. This role also includes supporting the training team through completion of data conversions.
Additional responsibilities include network and computer management; Technical Support / Trainer Support assistance and training; and performing a variety of other projects and assignments as required.
Position Responsibilities :
Works with Product Owners / Lead Developer in view of the big picture to determine best long term strategies for the SoftwareParticipates in determining options and pitfalls for various initiatives to help come up with workable solutionsProjectsHelp organize projects within the Ticket Management system and related documentsAssesses, analyzes and determines how requests will impact the customers journeyUses Agile SCRUM methodologyParticipates in daily stand-upsSub-divides complex stories into workable piecesMeet with Product Owners to clarify acceptance criteriaAccurately story point ticketsParticipate in all SCRUM related meetingsProper documentation in our Ticket Management systemCreates code to complete assigned ticketsEnsures Comments and Acceptance Criteria are read and understoodResearch how to fix bugs properly, correcting the source of the problemUses Test Driven Development as appropriateEnsures no new compiler errors / warnings added to programEnsures Story is properly tested prior to passing for Functional TestingWork with a GIT repositoryRefactor existing systems to improve quality and efficiencyResearch and implement system improvementsEnsure the system is compliant with current security requirements and regulationsParticipate with the Internal Networks teamSource and implement equipment as neededSetup Servers and Services for the officeAssist with security systemsProvides training on how new developments / functions workProvides technical support coaching and help as neededReviews and assesses data for transferBuild new conversion tools as requiredRuns pre-conversion and provides data to customer for verification and checkingFixes and makes adjustments as neededProcesses final conversion and performs any post fixesEducation
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or Computer EngineeringScrum Certification an AssetExperience
