About Us
The Department of Emergency Management leads disaster and emergency planning, preparedness, response, and recovery activities for the Province of Nova Scotia. The Incident Management and 911 Branch coordinates provincial responses, manages critical infrastructure partner resources, and modernises the emergency 911 system.
Primary Accountabilities
This supervisory role maintains a real‑time operational picture for government decision‑makers and partners, ensuring continuous 24 / 7 situational awareness. Responsibilities include :
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field, plus at least 6 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Working Conditions
The PCC Supervisor functions in a high‑stress, time‑critical environment, determining the validity, urgency, and significance of information. The PCC Watch Unit operates 24 / 7. Supervisors work a combination of 12‑hour day and night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays. Travel to remote sites, vehicle operation, and potential inclement weather may be required. The role may entail longer than normal working hours, overtime, and on‑call duty for emergency response and recovery.
