Responsibilities :
Interpretengineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan the sequence of tasks and determine material requirements.Lay outreference points and patterns on heavy metal (plates, bulkheads, frames) using precision tools.Set up and operateheavy-duty metalworking machines, including shears, brake presses, cutting torches, grinders, and drills.Assemble and fitmetal sections and plates to form complete units, using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, and mauls to align parts precisely.Tack weld,bolt, or rivet components to secure them in position for permanent welding or final assembly.Installfabricated components and structural accessories such as doors, hatches, brackets, and liners.Adhereto all company safety protocols and environmental stewardship requirements.Rig, hoist, and movematerials safely within the worksite using overhead cranes and other lifting equipment.Education and Experience
Must hold a Journeymans certificate, or have Red Sealin fabricator / ShipfitterCompletion of college / CEGEP / vocational or technical trainingAbility to communicate, read, and understand / follow directions in EnglishWillingness to participate in regular training programs and coursesKnowledge and Skills
Certification : Red Seal Metal Fabricator certification or 5+ years of relevant fabrication experience.Experience : Demonstrated proficiency in the layout and fabrication of metal structural parts (plates, bulkheads, frames).Technical Skills : Advanced blueprint reading and interpretation skills.Welding Assets : CWB all-position FCAW and SMAW A130 (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) tacking ticket is highly preferred.Work Environment : Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, including confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.Soft Skills : Strong communication skills (written and verbal English), excellent judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Work Conditions
