Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Controls Director, the Project Control Manager will deliver successful project controls for nuclear projects across multiple locations (Cambridge, Pickering, Darlington, Oshawa). The role supports estimating and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of Aecon’s project control system.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for project compliance to Aecon’s Project Controls standards and contract documents.Establish and maintain the project’s integrated Project Controls systems and oversee cost & schedule baseline.Lead meetings to communicate project performance status to the wider project team.Lead a team of Project Controls staff in planning, scheduling, cost control, change management, and risk management.Support Project Managers in tracking overall project health and maintain communication plans.Provide input into continuous improvement of Aecon’s Project Controls policies and guidelines.Oversee analysis and reporting of project performance key metrics; propose corrective actions.Implement & maintain an Earned Value Management plan.Lead development of project-specific Project Controls plans and change management plans.Provide support to Commercial & Procurement teams on subcontractor claims assessment and dispute resolutions.Provide commercial and technical expertise for proposal development and contractually defined project control requirements.Ensure adherence to all contract conditions regarding Project Controls requirements and monitoring & close‑out.Establish & maintain strong partnerships with client counterparts & joint venture stakeholders.Create, promote, and maintain a safe, open & respectful workplace culture.Provide feedback & guidance to direct reports for goal setting and career development.Conduct annual performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed.Participate in project‑level resource planning, utilization analysis & staffing plan forecasts.Lead project‑level recruitment efforts for new Project Controls resources.Qualifications
10‑15 years of related experience.Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post‑Secondary Degree.Strong Team Collaboration, Detail Oriented Approach, and Strong Verbal & Written Communication Skills.Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, and ERP systems expertise (SAP, Oracle, JDE).Demonstrated Project Controls technical knowledge (PMI#J-18808-Ljbffr
