Quality Control Supervisor - Temporary Contract : 6-9 months (could be extended)

Work Arrangement : 100% Onsite
Pay : $37–$45 / hour, based on experience
Team Lead / Supervisor level : $37–$40 / hour
Manager level : $40–$45 / hour
(Approx. $76,960–$93,600 annually)
Schedule Monday–Friday : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM or 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Some flexibility required; occasional Saturday work may be requested
Position Overview
A high-quality chemical manufacturing facility is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to lead laboratory quality control operations during a temporary coverage period. This role is responsible for overseeing QC lab activities, ensuring GMP compliance, supervising QC staff, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a QC Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Manager with hands-on laboratory experience in the chemical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor, and train QC laboratory technicians (overseeing a small team)
Perform laboratory testing when required due to workload or staff absences
Lead and support GMP compliance across laboratory operations
Conduct non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Maintain document control systems and ensure GMP-compliant documentation
Participate in internal audits, customer complaint investigations, and compliance reviews
Manage product release documentation and Certificates of Analysis (C of A)
Enter customer specifications and testing requirements into the ERP system
Prepare and ship customer samples as required
Ensure calibration and inspection of laboratory equipment and instruments
Maintain reagent inventory, including stock levels and expiry tracking
Support continuous improvement and quality culture initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science
3–5+ years of Quality Control experience in a chemical or laboratory environment
1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience (senior managers also considered)
Strong knowledge of GMP guidelines and quality systems
Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and chemical testing methods
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
