Day to day

Financial & cashflow analysis. Credit adjudication. Risk management.

  • Compliance accountability with various first-line risk management functions, workflows, and policies of CWB Maxium, including requirements for loan management, data integrity, portfolio quality, exposure limits and fulfillment of loan security and approval requirements.
  • Build close working relationships with sales and operations and risk management teams to analyze, structure, write and process credit applications, review, and recommendations in a timely manner consistent with established timelines.
  • Ensure risk appetite is within acceptable parameters of our lending practices and guidelines.
  • Prepare recommendations for approval, restructuring, or deferral of credit applications.
  • Prepare credit condition checklists for each approved credit application.
  • Ensure adherence to CWB Maxium's credit administration and security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual credit reviews on assigned portfolio of loans including an updated s ecurity review, financial covenant testing, re-rating of transaction credit risk and updated financial statement and cash flow analysis.
  • Review amendments seeking approval to modify the original transaction security or other credit conditions.
  • Identify and actively participate in operational improvements.

We are looking for a finance and / or credit professional with a strong desire to learn and grow. You are drawn to data and possess an analytical mind, finding patterns and underlying stabilities in financial statements and cash flow.

You must be sound in your research & understanding before being confident in your knowledge. You are a concise communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate.

You value collaboration and have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. This role requires a person who can maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from

Bachelors' Degree in business or related field is required in addition to two to five years financial services experience within functions of risk or credit management, banking and / or business lending.

Leadership and / or coaching experience is considered an asset. Prior experience in Commercial Banking is a plus. Experience in credit adjudication supported by well-developed skills in financial statement analysis and knowledge of effective risk mitigation strategies for credit underwriting are needed.
