Located on Highland Valley Road about an hour west of Kamloops, the Ashcroft Mining Division is a team of 20 including 2 skilled Shop staff, 15 Professional Truck Drivers and 3 Office staff. Our Division hauls copper, magnetite, and other concentrates and materials for our preferred customers from various mine sites to the Port of Vancouver for offshore delivery as well as other commodities that are condusive to haul in our ore trailers.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Division Manager’s role is to plan, organize, coordinate and implement the short and medium-term corporate and operational goals and activities of the Division. This individual is responsible for safely managing all aspects, activities and resources (people and equipment) of the Division towards meeting customer commitments and financial goals (budgetary / profit and loss) while working within regulatory and legal compliance. This individual also works with the various functional Directors to ensure corporate compliance in areas of Safety, Human Resources, Maintenance and other corporate programs.
Major Responsibilities include :
Responsible for annual Divisional strategic planning and budgeting. Focus must be on maximizing productivity and striving for least total cost operating position.Ensure the division is financially successful but never at the expense of safety, regulatory and legal compliance.Manages local operation towards high quality of customer service at least possible cost.Ensures that Divisional assets are utilized to maximum productivity.Oversees Division maintenance to ensure that company, industry and government regulations and standards are met. Plans to minimize equipment total maintenance cost over the life of the assets.Responsible for divisional human resource planning and utilization.Ensures the divisional processes are conducted as per the Operations Excellence, company and divisional S.O.P’s.Builds a team of motivated, efficient and productive employees and coordinates their efforts through strong leadership, coaching and direction.Provides employee-sensitive, considerate, courteous leadership through consistently fair treatment of people so that a relationship of mutual trust and support is maintained. Creates an honest and open communications environment which involves participative problem solving.Shares information with all employees so that a mutual understanding and appreciation of the company business is ensured.Oversees the company’s safety policies and programs, ensures full compliance and leads by example in this area.Cultivates and maintains a productive relationship with Arrow’s customers, and the local community.Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations participate in identifying hazards.Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.You Possess
Minimum of 5 years proven success and experience in a similar managerial capacityPreference towards post secondary education in Business, Operations, Logistics or related fieldPreference towards trucking industry experienceStrong capacity for Strategic thinkingStrong safety management mindset and experienceDemonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and writtenExcellent teamwork and team building skillsStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeStrong analytical and financial skillsAbility to lead by exampleExtensive understanding of account and customer service managementComputer literate including effective skills in Microsoft ExcelAbility to adapt to and quickly learn new softwareAble to work well under pressure and meet set deadlinesMechanical inclination is an assetOptions
