JobDescription
Wecurrently has openings for experienced Pole Line Engineerwith a Professional Engineer License.
Workexperience should be related to distribution pole line FTTX FTTC longhaul / interofficefiber MDUdesigns.
This position will reportlocally to the Toronto ON Canada office EngineeringManager.
The ideal candidates will be selfmotivatedtechnically oriented individuals with the desire to learn and applycurrent design skills required for the review and approval ofAerial permitting and OSP telecommunications designprojects.
Under limited supervision Pole line Engineerwould perform pole loading calculations using Spidacalc andQuickpole and create permit drawing using AutoCAD.
Theassociate will also conduct research read and interpret field dataland base maps civil blueprints survey documents and fieldsketches.
They will also compare the information contained onmaps / drawings with network facility records and information fromgovernmental and geographical resources including data andmeasurements collected from the field to develop and complete poleline designs to support FTTH projects BAU and relocation and MDUprojects.
Position Requirements :
- Must be a Professional EngineerLicensed in Ontario .
- Experience inthe civil structural mechanical engineering / constructionarchitecture (desired) and telecommunications industry (stronglydesired).
- Should have very good understandingof basic computer concepts and technology.
- Expertise in any Quickpole SpidaCalc PLS CAD is required.
- Experience with AerialCommunications line & poles inspections or design. Using CSA 22.3 No. 120 Overhead Systems. and O.
Reg. 22 / 04 guidelines.
Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2) 5G / Smart City high leveldesigns is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of permitting processes (highway railroad citycounty etc.) are also highly desired.
