Job descriptionCo‑coordinate consultant assignments for environmental assessments, feasibility studies, design, tendering, and contract administration. Oversee engineering design and construction contract administration. Provide leadership and direction to project teams and consultants. Define project objectives, scope, key stakeholders, roles, deliverables, design approach, detailed requirements, stages, and schedules. Prepare terms of reference, tender documents, RFPs, and evaluate detailed proposals. Negotiate with public utilities, conservation authorities, municipalities, and provincial / federal agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals. Negotiate project changes to minimize financial risk while maintaining quality and schedule. Manage and control project budget, schedule, and quality criteria. Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, municipalities, Regional Councillors, and the public. Manage selection and procurement process for major equipment and assess new technologies. Identify new business requirements to improve current practices and assess infrastructure needs. A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check (directly from police). Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technologist diploma, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of direct experience planning, designing, and constructing municipal infrastructure including wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and large‑diameter sanitary sewers. Thorough knowledge of wastewater design practices, codes, standards, regulations, safety acts, tendering / contract process, and contract administration. Strong negotiating, planning, scheduling, and project management skills. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated financial experience to prepare cost estimates and manage budgets. Highly effective interpersonal skills to negotiate and resolve emerging conflicts with staff, contractors, suppliers, residents, councillors, and stakeholders. Salary Range : Non‑union, Band J $117,464 per annum – $146,830 per annum plus comprehensive benefits
Hiring Range : $117,464 per annum – $132,147 per annum
Location : 1300 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, ON (G.E. Booth Wastewater Treatment Plant)
Hours of work : 35 hours per week
Work Mode & Location
Hybrid; 2 onsite days per week with potential increase based on operational needs.
Off‑site work must be within the province of Ontario.
Flexible hours support wellness and work‑life balance.
