The Construction Work Planner is located in Bowmanville and typically reports directly to the CWP Supervisor. The Construction Work Planner is responsible for understanding, walking down, and creating planned work orders in the work management system for the purpose of project implementation activities for various contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all Black and McDonald’s Quality Managed system procedures for work planning
- Interpret design documents for scope installation
- Preparation of inspection and test plans
- Work with Project Managers / teams to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects to ensure work packages are created, processed and delivered
- Conduct analysis to determine duration of project activities and identify interdependencies to meet project scope of work
- Provide support to other stakeholders and groups as required
- Follow all related Managed System Procedures as they relate to Construction / Maintenance work packages
Assist with the estimation of new bids for the purposes of supplying hours for Work Planning functions
Write Detailed work instructions to accomplish field implementation – this may include becoming familiar with and referencing to client station procedures, standards, and specificationsApply Knowledge of construction methods and station configuration to create the work task structure breakdown to implement the projectAccumulate all the necessary technical documents for construction activitiesPreparing work packages for field execution as they relate to the appropriate trade groupsLiaison with Design and supplier groupsCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Completion of Grade 12Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or College Technical Diploma in related discipline, or Apprenticeship training, or other related industrial educationWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
8 years related experience with projectsExperience in planning related discipline work packagesExperience in managing people and processesExperience in electrical, mechanical and civil packagesSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
