The Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC) is a Manitoba Métis-owned lending institution created to finance the start-up, acquisition and / or expansion of viable Métis controlled small businesses based in Manitoba.
The LRCC seeks to fill one (1) full-time Manager, Entrepreneur Initiatives position based out of Winnipeg, MB. Salary range of $58, to $72, dependent on education and experience.
Job Duties / Competencies :
- Provide quality delivery and administration of the Manitoba Métis Federation Entrepreneur Initiative (MMF EI) program.
- Be the point of contact and support for Métis entrepreneurs approaching LRCC for business services or financing.
- Be responsible for delivering business training and workshops in the community to assist with starting or growing a business.
- Be responsible for the micro-loan program and assisting Métis entrepreneurs to apply and access micro-loans.
- Assist MMF EI clients and prospective clients with business plan development, this may involve working with external consultants.
- Provide direct support to MMF EI clients as needed. This may involve arranging for other LRCC team members to deliver business coaching based on their unique expertise.
- Assist in promoting other LRCC commercial programs.
- Take a lead role in managing and optimizing the MMF EI database, produce reports as required on MMF EI activities.
- Assist with activities to expand the number of qualified MMF EI loan clients (manage a portfolio of MMF EI micro-loan customers).
Skills and Qualifications :
- 3 - 5 years' experience in related context, community economic development, business finance, bank or credit union or non-profit organization is preferred.
- Experience with budgeting and financial systems / procedures.
- A university degree or college diploma in business administration, finance, community economic development, planning, or equivalent experience ( banking, lending, community economic development) is preferred.
- Experience in Métis business and economic development an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of Métis histories and cultures is an asset.
- Occasional evening / weekend work may be required.
- Some travel outside of Winnipeg may be required.
- Proficient with various Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
