Surveillance Operator-DWC

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for monitoring interior and exterior areas of a property by closed circuit television cameras and maintaining visual records. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitors, documents and reports violations, large cash/cash equivalents transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access
• Maintains logs and records; storing records for evidence purposes
• Monitoring, documenting, and reporting on conditions of surveillance facilities and equipment
• Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed
• Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons
• Observing cashier transactions, slot drops, escorts cash and cash equivalent movements
• Tagging and reporting found property; transferring items to Lost and Found
• Conducting regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
• Escorting guests and employees as directed
• Performing identification checks
• Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security
• Designated Security Officers may be required to attend to First Aid incidents, after completing an Occupation First Aid course. The designation will be at the discretion of the Security Manager.
• May enroll guests in the Self-Exclusion Program at some locations
• Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs duties surrounding surveillance needs as required
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed
• Monitoring, documenting, and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons, and activities; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system

Education and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous security experience an asset but not required
• Gaming Security Officer training and additional training as requested
• Serving It Right Certification
• Can understand, speak, and write English, fluency in other languages an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service oriented communication

The ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)

• Regular office environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances.
