2 years or more of experience in bookkeeping / financial accountingExperience managing financial records for stewardship programsExperience working with accounting software, including Quick BooksWork must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotelyGeneral Tasks
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systemsMaintain general ledgers and financial statementsPrepare other statistical, financial and accounting reportsPrepare trial balance of booksArrange for billing for servicesSend invoicesEnsure compliance with government regulationsSpecific Tasks
Manage and maintain financial records for multiple stewardship programs, including Interchange Recycling, Call2Recycle, Product Care, and Cleanfarms, ensuring accuracy and compliancePrepare and analyze financial reports, supporting documentation, correspondence, and backup materials for internal and external stakeholdersMaintain accounts receivable and accounts payable records, including collections, in accordance with company financial policies and proceduresConduct annual reviews of internal financial processes to ensure alignment with stewardship program requirements and regulatory standardsReview and validate consolidated invoices prior to submission, ensuring accuracy and proper codingInvestigate billing discrepancies, resolve issues, and follow up with relevant parties to ensure timely resolutionCreate and manage purchase orders; review incoming invoices and route them for appropriate approvalReview internal work orders for billing accuracy and ensure correct general ledger (GL) coding is appliedSupport the preparation and execution of client and agency audits by compiling relevant financial data and documentationComputer and technology knowledge
