Advanced DevOps Games Software Engineer - American Football

Overview

Advanced DevOps & Automation Engineer - American Football at EA SPORTS. This role focuses on automation, scalability, and reliability to support large-scale, connected game experiences (Madden, College Football, and new projects).

Hybrid onsite presence is required in Victoria, BC; Orlando, FL; or Madrid, ES.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI / CD pipelines for game clients, backend services, and tools using Python, C#, Groovy, C++, and more.
• Automate build, deployment, and environment management processes across Dev, Staging, and Production.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting build stability, uptime, and environment health.
• Collaborate with gameplay, backend, and tools engineers to identify and eliminate workflow bottlenecks.
• Manage version control integrations and branch strategies to ensure stable and consistent release cycles.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions to ensure proactive service reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement in deployment practices, including test automation, rollback strategies, and release governance.
• Contribute to defining and tracking engineering KPIs (e.g., build success rate, environment uptime, MTTR).
• Champion DevOps best practices across the studio and promote modern, automated workflows.
• Foster a strong testing culture by promoting best practices, mentoring team members, and driving consistent adoption of effective testing methodologies.

Pay Ranges
