Description
Teach ESTR 0310 & 0320 during operation of ESTRs Market.
ESTR 0310 : This course is a continuation of the Fall semester ESTR 0210 : Kitchen Theory I. Students extend their practical kitchen work skills and test their knowledge in a kitchen laboratory. Food groups are discussed and students prepare food according to relevant recipes. Accurate measurement organization and following directions is emphasized. Students prepare to write the Food Safe Certification.
ESTR 0320 : Students continue to work in commercial kitchens where they are familiarized with the daily procedures and develop the necessary speed to perform routine commercial kitchen tasks.
Requirements
Education :
Masters degree or a Red Seal in a relevant field required (required)
Teaching Certificate or Instructors Diploma or Special Education Certificate (required)
Experience :
A minimum of 5 years (full-time equivalent) teaching experience within the last 10 years
Experience and knowledge of teaching strategies in : project-based learning experiential learning and / or integrated work-learning
Experience working with students with diverse abilities in contexts that support development of self-advocacy independence and employment skills
Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action 62) (preferred)
Skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding empathy and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) (preferred)
Teaching excellence including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) (preferred)
