Materials Manager - Rigid Plastic Packaging

George Thomas has partnered with a leading rigid plastic packaging manufacturer in the Greater Hamilton (Burlington), ON region.

As the Materials Manager, you will drive operational excellence by leading and developing a high-performing materials team responsible for production planning, inventory management, and supplier relationships. Your proactive leadership will ensure material availability, optimized inventory, and effective scheduling to consistently meet customer commitments and organizational goals.

Location : The role would require 100% onsite presence.

How Will You Add Value to the Team :

• Lead and develop the Materials Team, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with site leadership and cross-functional teams to support production priorities and business goals.
• Analyze demand trends for strategic planning and inventory management.
• Champion the implementation of new systems and tools (e.g., SAP, internal planning tools). - Report on KPIs and drive actions based on data and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain effective supplier relationships and drive supplier performance.
• Participate in audits and ensure best practices in quality, safety, and environmental standards.
