Responsibilities
- Documentation including solution requirements, design documents, process documentation, training documentation,
- Software development on the IBM i including design, code, and unit tests,
- Data querying and analysis,
- Participation in team and project discussions.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications :
- BA / BS degree in related field or technical institute training.
- A minimum of three years working with IBM i applications and understanding of development processes on this platform.
- Demonstrated programming and development proficiencies RPGIV (free and fixed format), CL, COBOL, SQLRPGLE.
- Demonstrated experience communicating complex and highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical people (both written and verbal) with various levels within an organization.
- Demonstrated experience with DB2 for IBM i using both legacy and modern concepts. Understanding of database structures, data integrity, and data modelling as it relates to application software development.
- Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), support, and QA methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and debugging both interactive and batch jobs.
- Demonstrated experience with SQL.
- Demonstrated experience using source control tools.
Desired Requirements
- Local Knowledge; our client is interested in understanding your experience with Government of Saskatchewan, Crown Corporations, or comparable entities
- Familiar with the use of Access Client Solutions (ACS).
- Familiar with the use of Rational Developer for IBMi (RDi).
- Familiar with the use of X-Analysis.
- Familiar with the use of Aldon Lifecycle Manager for IBMi (Aldon LMi).
- Familiar with the use of Microsoft TFS / Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Progen plus.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative work within a team.
- Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of security best practices.
