Position Overview
Attention all perspective Lifeguards! The City of Kamloops is recruiting for Lifeguards who will begin their career with us in September 2024 approximately.
This will allow candidates the opportunity to gain the required certification(s) and become fully qualified. You can learn more about the courses needed to become fully qualified for this position by visiting The Lifesaving Society Water Safety Training & Education .

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications :
- Minimum age is 16 years old.
- Current National Lifeguard (NL) Award - Pool Option.
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Current CPR C Certificate or equivalent
- Current Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) Certificate
- Current BCRPA Aquatic Fitness certification.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check.
This position will receive 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time. Please note that more than one may be hired.
