NPD Firmware / Software Developer

Overview

NPD Firmware Software Developer – Reporting to the R&D Engineering Manager, the NPD Firmware / Software Developer designs, develops, and validates embedded firmware and software for protection and control systems. The role supports automated test platform development, ensures compliance with technical standards, and collaborates across Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales / Marketing, and After-Market teams to drive product performance and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of firmware and software (GUI) for embedded platforms used in protection and control.
• Design and build firmware / software for automated test platforms used in production and testing.
• Understand and actively update embedded system design requirements per specifications and standards.
• Responsible for creation of the engineering test plan for areas of design responsibility.
• Design / build of new embedded firmware and software. Guide and collaborate with external consultant or contractor if needed.
• Support RMA and NCR of embedded products.
• Maintain production automated test equipment.
• Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results and project activity as required.
• Interface with purchasing and vendors in the selection and approval of components.
• Provide engineering support to Sales / Marketing and Manufacturing, After Market Support teams on new and existing products and processes.
• Participate in the review of engineering drawings prior to the release to manufacture. Responsible for final approval of applicable drawings.

Qualifications

What We Offer You

The typical base pay for this position is between $95,000-$130,000 annually. Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program
