At Belwood Poultry, maintenance isn’t just about fixing equipment — it’s about protecting food safety and operational excellence.
We are seeking a Facilities Manager to lead our maintenance function, ensuring our facility and equipment consistently meet food safety, quality, and production standards. This role goes beyond hands-on repairs — it requires someone who can plan work, allocate resources, lead skilled tradespeople, and ensure our facility operates safely and compliantly every day.
This position is ideal for a maintenance leader who understands the importance of GMPs, HACCP, and clear communication in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform building maintenance duties, including painting, minor plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
- Repair of faulty equipment and damaged structures.
- Preventative maintenance procedure.
- Maintain inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Inspection of building, equipment, and systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications of facilities.
- Periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is compliant and up to standards.
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols.
- Repair mechanical systems to ensure they are compliant with health and safety regulations.
Working Conditions
Shift schedule is Monday – Friday, (Occasional Saturdays.). Hours may vary based on business needs.Ability to work in varying temperatures and in damp wet conditions.Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).Physical requirements : bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying boxes, tools and equipment.Ability to work at heights.Requirements
4th or 5th YEAR APPRENTICE WILL BE CONSIDEREDA technical diploma / ticket is preferred.Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations and able to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the plant.Welding experience is an asset.Possess a valid and current refrigeration "B" Operator certificate.3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.Compensation
Wage and compensation are based on knowledge and experience.Wage & Performance review after a successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
