Job Description
The Manager, Critical Care and Emergency, is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing and directing the delivery of patient care services within the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry Unit, and Cardio Pulmonary Unit at the Comox Valley Campus (CVH) of the North Island Hospital.
Reporting to the Site Director, this role involves providing clinical and operational leadership to a front-line clinical patient care department or health program delivered through multi-disciplinary health care teams in a hospital and / or community-based direct patient / client care setting.
The Manager utilizes a collaborative, supportive, team building approach, and evidence based decision making to provide leadership in the integration of cultural safety and humility, and the coordination of patient-centred, quality care supporting the health of the population throughout Geography 1 of Island Health, with a focus on First Nations and the elderly.

and ensures policies and procedures comply with professional, legal, and Island Health standards.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant health discipline, Master's degree and / or specialty certification in Critical Care preferred.
Seven (7) years health care experience including several years at the supervisory / management level in a critical care area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Appropriate certification, license or professional designation and current registration with regulatory body.
