Working within the head office's preconstruction department, you will lead and oversee diverse projects throughout the pursuit, preconstruction, and construction phases.
Leveraging advanced BIM techniques, the role focuses on facilitating project management and enhancing planning. The position emphasizes continuous professional development, having a proven track record of developing industry-leading experts in both BIM and project management roles.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand and optimize preconstruction processes and requirements.
- Attend preconstruction meetings with clients and consultants.
- Read and interpret construction schedules.
- Utilize BIM / VDC tools and platforms for coordination, constructability reviews, planning, site logistics, and Virtual Reality.
- Plan and develop 2D / 3D logistics construction phasing and sequencing drawings.
- Develop BIM Execution Plans (BEP) to standardize the development, use, and exchange of digital data.
- Complete BIM-based quantity take-offs from 3D models as well as 2D drawings and manipulate data.
- Manage 3D models, perform clash detection, chair BIM coordination meetings, and assist in developing solutions with the project team and design consultants.
- Perform conversion from 2D CAD drawings to 3D models for project visualization.
- Prepare 4D simulations.
- Review drawings, detect deficiencies (e.g., miscoordination or missing information) and issue RFIs to the consultants.
- Create templates and families in Revit to set a company-wide standard for working within BIM
- Support activities related to the procurement and tendering processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience :
- Minimum post- secondary degree / diploma in construction (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, etc.) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ construction experience.
- Experience working with BIM projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Revit.
- Must have excellent drawing comprehension of Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural and Structural Drawings.
- Must have experience with clash detection software and be able to resolve said clashes.
- Willingness / adaptability to learn new skills and software packages to accommodate project needs.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing would be a valuable asset.
- Working knowledge of MS Project would be a valuable asset.
- Able to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
