This privately owned industrial organization operates in the Mississauga area and supports customers across multiple regions and currencies. The business has an established onsite team and maintains a hands‑on, collaborative environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, service, and internal support across finance and operations.

Your new role

Thepany is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounting Clerk to step into a 6‑month contract role with the potential to convert to permanent. This position supports the finance function during a planned leave of absence and plays a key role in maintaining day‑to‑day accounting operations.
Reporting into a senior finance leader and working closely with accounting and operations stakeholders, this is a fully onsite position with some flexibility where needed on an ad‑hoc basis.

Process and validate vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy andpliance with internal financial procedures
Record accounts payable transactions and respond to supplier inquiries in a timely manner
Prepare weekly payment runs, including cheque processing and documentation
Apply and reconcile customer payments, including credit cards and electronic transactions
Support daily monitoring of outstanding customer balances and assist with follow‑ups as required
Prepare bank deposits and maintain supporting schedules for monthly reconciliation
Reconcile corporate credit card activity and review associated statements
Generate routine financial and operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
Assist with administrative support tasks including filing, document management, and petty cash
Support inventory tracking for office supplies and coordinate replenishment
Participate in ad‑hoc projects and assist the finance team during peak periods

What you'll need to succeed

Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in Accounting or a related field
3–5 years of experience in an accounting support or clerical role, ideally within a smaller or mid‑sized business
Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and transaction processing
Strong experience working with Excel and accounting/ERP systems
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Exposure to multi‑currency environments considered an asset
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms is advantageous
Proactive, detail‑oriented, and service‑focused approach
Strongmunication skills and a positive, team‑first attitude
