Iris's client, a leading Canadian bank is looking to hire a Product Manager / Project Manager for a long term role in Halifax( Hybrid).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of our end-users, defining the vision for the Data Virtualization product offering and continuously evaluating, prioritizing and leading build-out of product features that are truly valued by consumers (backed by evidence and robust research).
The role requires strong collaboration and partnership with Product Engineering, Product Support, Data Governance / Management, Enterprise Infrastructure, as well as external software vendors.
The Product Manager is also the primary point of contact with consumer Front Office Application teams / applications, and with senior stakeholders - requiring excellent, clear and concise communication skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have experience in : Creating and managing product roadmaps outlining the platform's features and future direction - within a Product led company, preferably a FinTech or at a large Financial Services firm / product vendor
- Conducting research to deeply understand customer needs and pain-points; Solid understand of vendor landscape and how solutions might be leveraged to solve problems / capture opportunities
- Translating business needs into product requirements (with high level of detail such that they can be efficiently implemented by the engineering teams)
- Overseeing the entire product development life cycle, ensuring features are built and deployed in line with the client needs and that the overall product development is aligned with the organizations' broader data strategy
- Performing data analysis and running queries to understand how consumers are leveraging our products, proactively identifying issues / anomalies, establish linkages and patterns in consumption behavior - that can be used to inform our product strategy
- Acting as a liaison between different teams including Architecture, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and consumer Front Office teams / applications
What do you need to succeed? Strong Product Management background, experience in agile environments, understanding of technical concepts and strong business acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; notably the ability to straddle high-level / strategic client conversations and the technical nuances of the product platform
- Adept at conducting product research and gathering valuable feedback / ideas
- Proven ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced environment; Strong organizational skills are essential
- Demonstrable track record of learning new skills while building partnerships with stakeholders and fostering high performance team culture
- Strong knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Virtualization, and Cloud technologies
