Job Description
Summary
We are looking for a hands-on private household property manager (caretaker / driver) to be responsible for the overall maintenance of a private residence and assisting in different capacities the household’s varying needs, including driving the family members to various locations.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the Wi-Fi, lighting, A / C, heating, and other equipment are functioning normally.
- Identifying maintenance and repair needs.
- Able to perform light maintenance at the principal's residence e.g. touch ups, changing light bulbs, fixing things, taking out the trash, recycling, composting
- Make sure the outside of the house is always clean : doors, walls, lights, entry
- Plan and supervise the maintenance work when suppliers and contractors are requested, including quote inquiry and analysis.
- Follow up with work not completed or to be executed in several stages.
- First responder for alarms and emergencies.
- Provide safe and secure transportation to and from destinations.
- Plan routes to ensure the most efficient journey.
- Assist passengers in entering and exiting the vehicle and help with any luggage.
- Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness both inside and out.
- Ensure the vehicle is maintained properly and coordinate timely servicing and repairs.
- Be available on-call for unscheduled drives.
- Keep accurate records of travel, expenses, and vehicle maintenance.
Requirements and qualifications
- Experience in hands-on household work and knowledge of all areas of property maintenance.
- A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
- Good knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
- Good navigational skills and familiarity with GPS devices.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful driving conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and sense of initiative.
- Flexibility with working hours; availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift heavy luggage and assist passengers as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service and always demonstrate professionalism.
- Abide by all traffic laws and regulations.
- Have a great sense of planning and organization.
- Having a great sense of confidentiality and discretion is a must.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
