Job Summary : To pick, pack, ship and receive inventory daily, to incorporate lean management and 5S practices in the individual’s daily routine.

Perform parts inventory tasks that support our business through warehouse operations. To focus and participate in health and safety improvements, 5S & 2S, follow TPS philosophy, and strive for continuous improvement in operations.

Health and safety are considered one of our forefronts of production, giving the employee a safe working environment to grow and develop.

The individual will be expected to follow the below responsibilities and partake in company projects for future development.

Key Work Activities :

Activity A Assigned Tasks in Parts Warehouse

  • Receive parts into JDE on the same day of arrival within 24 hours of arrival
  • Receive breakdown or emergency orders on the same day of arrival
  • Complete suppressed part number audits
  • Monitor bin locations and follow put away standards
  • Assign new parts bin locations to on hand no locations parts following TPS methodology
  • Conduct inventory parts audits and report discrepancies to Supervisor
  • Participate in annual parts inventory count
  • Partake in stock returns from OEM vendors
  • Complete van returns from Technicians
  • Complete Part returns from Customers
  • Complete Customer over the counter transactions
  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously
  • Perform assigned tasks from Supervisor
  • Pick, Pack, and put away parts
  • Combine same destination orders and package efficiently
  • Utilize established shipping practices to reduce freight costs
  • Verify orders are accurate and complete (i.e., charged correctly, appropriate branch and documentation).
  • Work Safe and follow Health & Safety PPE Standards. Report concerns / observations / suggestions and deviances to Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Activity B Inventory Control

  • Other instructions and duties assigned by Manager / Supervisor
  • Maintain and suggest 5S process improvements
  • Ensure Part warehouse operates according to Johnston’s policies, procedures, and standards
  • Special Projects
  • Work with the National Inventory Team on projects
  • Slot new parts
  • Help with cross training with both teams within the Team
  • Coverage for vacation time if required

Activity D Core- Return Process

  • Retrieve cores from van inventory and return in a core charge document immediately to relieve van inventory
  • Ensure cores are properly tagged in identification
  • Ensure warranty cores are placed in warranty holding area
  • Credit customers and branches with core charges upon inspection
  • Prepare core parts for credits to Raymond
  • Prepare core freight, customs documents, and pallet

Activity E Customer Service

  • Provide World Class Service to all customers (internal and external)
  • Engage with Parts Correspondents to escalate parts orders and / or quotes to be answered in a timely manner
  • Listen, Record, and Commit to resolving Customer questions through Supervisor / Manager and Customer Care Department
