Job Description
We are looking for a co‑op student to join our dynamic team where every day brings challenges and opportunities to learn new skills and make a positive impact. You will work in a fun, fast‑paced, and collaborative environment helping to develop and deploy infrastructure and engineering applications to our user community. You will work alongside experienced professionals eager to share their knowledge and help you succeed.
We have a focus on deploying well‑designed solutions that are maintainable, secure, and well‑documented, with an emphasis on automation and DevOps best practices.
Your Day to Day Will Include
- Building and maintaining virtual environments to host our solutions and support the team
- Deployment of applications and services, including integrating them together
- Updating and expanding applications to provide users with new features or improved processes.
- Writing scripts or tools, automating tasks such as setup, provisioning, environment monitoring, data collection, and reporting.
- Evaluating new tools and technologies to improve the way we work.
- Developing, streamlining, and communicating processes and best practices.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Computer ScienceExperience working with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShellExperience working with JavaScript or TypeScriptFundamental understanding of Server and Desktop Operating systemsLove working in a team environment, collaborating, and sharing your knowledgeAbility to analyze complex issues, develop and recommend options, and implement solutionsGood communication skills, both written and verbalTeam Impact

Experience working in a git environment with a modern IDE or directly on the command-lineExperience working with C#, ASP.NET, and Angular.Practice working with Linux and / or Windows operating systemsAny knowledge of VM environments or containerization tools like DockerIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems‑Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this position is CA$23.08 – CA$32.41. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date. As part of student placement, you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
