We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Public Health department.
Reporting to the Program Lead, and in alignment with the vision and values of the organization, this position practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and provides dental health prevention and promotion services for communities and populations in Northern Health.
New Wage : As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is : $22.58 - $29.15 / hour
Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Week 1 Tues to Fri 7.5 hr days; Wk 2 Tues-Thur 7.5 hr / day Fri 4.5 hr day Rotating, Days - 08 : 30 to 16 : 30
Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 24-bed Acute Care facility,
which integrates home and community care into one facility. Some of the services include :

Smithers Smithers is located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley surrounded by three mountain ranges which provide a backdrop for the town's Alpine setting.
The main industries include forestry, tourism, transportation and agriculture. Smithers offers affordable housing and natural splendor that support a balanced lifestyle.
The population of Smithers is approximately 6,000, with an additional 5,000 from the surrounding communities that access services.
There are three elementary schools, one secondary school, one alternate format school for grades 9-12 and Coast Mountain College.

Qualfications
- Grade 12.
- Successful completion of a recognized Certified Dental Assistant Program and 1 year's recent related experience.
- Current registration and licensure as a Certified Dental Assistant in the College British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for work purposes
Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment including relevant electronic computer systems
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
