Job Summary

The Permitting Transformation Division (PTD) is responsible for working across the Natural Resource Ministries (NRMs), the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO), the BC Energy Regulator (BCER), other crown agencies, ministries and levels of government as needed to establish greater certainty, transparency, and clarity in the permitting process while reducing the overall volume of applications moving through the system.

PTD is responsible for land, water, and fish and wildlife authorizations on behalf of the ministry, and supports critical priority government projects, including Housing, Connectivity and Electrification.

Job Requirements :

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) or an equivalent combination of education / training, plus 3 or more years' experience working in a natural resource discipline.
  • Experience in negotiating / mediating solutions in natural resource management.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, or leading a component of a project, using project management standards, principles and tools
  • Experience establishing, building and maintaining collaborative working relationships to facilitate solutions in process improvements in natural resource management.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary issues involved in natural resource management.

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following :

  • 3 or more years of experience in leading or managing multiple projects.
  • 3 or more years of experience in working in collaborative environments with Indigenous nations and various stakeholder groups to advance natural resource developments in British Columbia.
  • Fully licensed registered professional with one of the following associations : Association of BC Forest Professionals, BC Institute of Agrologists, or Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.

This is a temporary opportunity until03 / 31 / 2025. This temporary opportunity may become permanent.

Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement.
