Description
Caregivers are essential to the well-being of the animals at Safe Haven. This role supports the Animal Care Staff by ensuring each animal is comfortable, healthy, and cared for during their stay with AARCS.
Responsibilities
Support the daily care of dogs at Safe Haven, including feeding, cleaning and disinfecting kennels.Complete general shelter tasks related to the dogs (laundry, washing crates).Assist with enrichment and walking the dogs in care.Attend shifts as scheduled and work with the team to ensure dogs receive proper care and attention.Schedule & Training
Shifts run three times daily at 8 : 00 a.m., 12 : 00 p.m., and 7 : 00 p.m., 7 days a week, 365 days a year (approximately 2 hours per shift).Training consists of three parts : an online training module, an in-person group training session, and a hands-on training shift with a Shift Lead.Dog caregiving provides an opportunity to advance dog handling skills through Basic Dog Handling and Advanced Dog Handling courses.Requirements
