The Test Engineer will be involved in all facets of the product lifecycle. You will work with all departments at Vaderstad to continuously improve our product lines and exceed customer expectations.
You must be an open communicator that is willing to continuously learn new skills and apply them without supervision.

Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, agricultural, or electrical engineering, or engineering technologist diploma
- Eligible for registration as an engineer or technologist with APEGS or SASTT
- Knowledge of and experience with current farming practices and equipment is an asset
- Experience with PTC Creo or equivalent CAD system

- Mechanically inclined and understand current metal, plastic, electrical and hydraulic component fabrication techniques
- Strong troubleshooting abilities of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to use hand tools and operate large machinery
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

Accountabilities
- Design and execution of test plans for bench testing and field testing
- Detailed reporting on test results through regular communication with design engineers and comprehensive written reports
- Identify opportunities and prepare justifications for capital projects related to testing activities
- Communicate with all internal Vaderstad departments as well as outside vendors and customers as required
- Identify areas to improve quality, performance, and cost of equipment
- Follow internal standards and policies
- Regular job training
- Maintain membership to APEGS or SASTT
Work Conditions
- Working environment will be a mix of office, fabrication shop, test lab, and field
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Work is performed in a combination of environments which require the usage of Personal Protective Equipment
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required
- Overtime and travel may be required depending on season and assignments
