Aerial Camera Operator (Contract)

First Base Solutions Inc. is searching for an Aerial Camera Operator to join our team! As an Aerial Camera Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of a high-resolution camera stationed in an aircraft and collecting data for aerial surveys. This is a 9-month contract with field and office components, based out of the GTA. This job posting is for a vacant position.

Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the operation of our large format Vexcel Digital Cameras while onboard our Cessna 414, 182 or 206 aircraft. When not in-flight, the incumbent will be working in our Head Office, processing the data collected and performing mapping work. The successful applicant will be responsible for :

• Operating UltraNAV GNSS-Aided Inertial Direct Georeferencing and the advanced Flight Management Systems.
• Conducting image quality control in the field and office
• File management and the transfer of image and supporting data between the aircraft and the office.
• Assisting with aerial photo flight planning, field survey of ground control, pre-mission planning for specific project requirements and weather monitoring,
• Conducting regular maintenance, transportation, troubleshooting and assisting with the installation of the camera equipment.
• Mapping requirements include orthophoto quality control and processing, and assisting with DTM assembly and colour balancing, as well as fixes and edits to orthophotos.
