Join our Laval team as an assistant controller for a temporary 20-month assignment. Reporting to the corporate controller, you will actively participate in the preparation of financial information, compliance with accounting standards, and analyses for management, working closely with the various financial teams.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the corporate controller, the assistant controller is a key member of the corporate management team involved in decisions requiring their expertise and analysis of financial information for the entire group and its subsidiaries.Assist with and prepare financial statements (consolidated and stand-alone) in accordance with official guidelines and requirements;Assist with and generate intercompany commissions;Oversee the preparation of monthly / quarterly sales tax returns and ensure compliance with the regulations of each region;Participate in the preparation of the annual audit;Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses;Coordinate or assist with the budget process;Investigate accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles;Manage journal entries, invoices, etc., and reconcile accounts for monthly or annual closing;Financial accounting management of fixed assets via capex module (acquisitions, monthly depreciation);Review reconciliations and intercompany transactions;Assist in preparing reports for management or regulatory agencies;Review company accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances and propose solutions to improve processes;Prepare ad hoc accounting analyses;Monitor various loans and acquisition lease contracts and amortization schedules;Monitoring of various provisions (inventory, warranty, taxes, deferred taxes, etc.);Monitoring of exchange contracts and foreign exchange gains or losses;Working closely with the controller and other members of the accounting team on various projects; implementation of a new accounting system and assistance with process improvement projects;Qualifications
Professional accounting designation, CPA, CA;Minimum 5 years of experience, including 2 years in a similar role;Extensive experience in consolidation according to NCECF standards;Ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;Rigorous, proactive, with good judgment and strong analytical skills;Leadership and communication skills;Experience in ERP implementation, knowledge of SAGE 300 / INTACCT an asset;Experience in international multi-site manufacturing companies is an asset;Very good knowledge of the Office suite;Ability to communicate orally and in writing with people in the United States, Dubai, and Belgium.#J-18808-Ljbffr
