Contract Administrator
Location : Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta
Compensation : $100 - 130K + Bonus
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a respected architecture and design firm with a strong presence across Alberta and an active portfolio of commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and residential projects. They are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join their Calgary or Edmonton office.
This role plays a critical part in the successful delivery of projects, acting as the key link between design teams, consultants, and contractors during the construction phase. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, construction documentation expertise, and hands-on experience administering CCDC contracts, with the ability to manage projects from tender through to close-out.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer construction contracts under CCDC-2 and CCDC-5, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, schedules, and quality standards
- Act as the primary point of contact during the construction phase between the client, consultants, and contractors
- Review, track, and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and site instructions
- Conduct and document site visits, coordinate deficiency reviews, and monitor construction progress
- Prepare and review construction documentation, including supplemental instructions, change directives, and payment certifications
- Support project teams through tendering, contract award, construction, and project close-out
- Collaborate closely with architects, technologists, and consultants to ensure design intent is maintained through construction
- Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reporting throughout the construction phase
- Assist in resolving construction issues, claims, and coordination challenges in a professional and timely manner
TEHCNICAL SKILLS
Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for reviewing, coordinating, and understanding construction documentsSolid understanding of construction methods, detailing, and building systemsAbility to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawingsQUALIFICATIONS
Degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline5+ years of experience in a Contract Administration role within an architectural or construction environmentProven experience working on commercial, institutional, mixed-use, and / or residential projectsHands-on experience with construction administration and site review processesStrong working knowledge of CCDC-2 and CCDC-5 contractsExcellent organizational, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with diverse teamsWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
