REPORTS TO : Manager, Recreation Services
LOCATION : Initial placement – Brant Sports Complex, Paris
Minimum Qualifications :
- Post secondary school education in recreation or related field
- 2 years of experience in aquatics or a recreational setting with child and youth ages or similar
- Previous supervision in an Aquatics setting or previous supervisory experience.
- Current National Lifeguard, LSS Lifesaving & Swim Instructors Certification
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification
- Demonstrated excellent public relation skills
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting participants with diverse abilities in inclusive recreational or educational environments
- Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and setting standards of excellence
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable provincial and federal legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Public Pool Regulations
- Knowledge and experience working in an aquatics / recreational program setting
- Ability to travel between County facilities, work a flexible schedule and meet deadlines
- Valid Class G Drivers License and Driver’s Abstract
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Records check

To support the objectives and philosophies of the County of Brant Recreation Services DivisionOversee the operations, lifecycle, programs / service delivery and staffing for the Paris Community Pool & Splashpad and the County of Brant’s Youth and Fair Brant programming portfolioTo display knowledge, skills and abilities which provide competent leadership in Aquatics Programming and Recreational programming and related areasTo be available as a knowledgeable resource to program participants, parents, and staff of the Paris Community Pool and Recreation ProgramsComplete all administrative functions for the Paris Community Pool & Splashpad, including but not limited to program planning, ordering supplies, and ensuring a safe working environmentResponsible for the supervision, recruitment, training, development, and evaluation of staff / volunteers for the Paris Community Pool & Splashpad and related recreation programsAssist with the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures for the Paris Community Pool & Splashpad and other recreation programs and services as neededTo ensure on-going evaluation of aquatics programs, recreation programming and staff through the Parks & Recreation evaluation programTo purchase aquatic and recreation program supplies and equipment and keep current inventoryTo assist with capital and operating budgets for the Paris Community Pool & Splashpad and recreation programsLiaise with Lifesaving Society (Ontario) in maintaining up to date program and service standardsTo assist with other Recreation Services Division supported events, programs as requiredOther duties as assignedHourly Salary : $37.78 - $44.19 (Job Grade 5) 35 hours per week, including weekends and evenings
