Lock Search Group’s Industrial Team have partnered with a Global Leader in O&G Equipment Manufacturing & Services who require experienced Field Service Technicians, Millwrights, and Heavy Duty Mechanics in Calgary and Lloydminster.

The Field Service Technician will leverage extensive knowledge of gas compression packages and related components to optimize equipment performance, independently handling startups, servicing, repairs, and warranty work, often in remote locations.

Expertly diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor issues, ensuring proper settings and adjustments. Provide detailed diagnostic assessments to clients and the Service Coordinator, while prioritizing repairs based on downtime and customer needs.

Maintain comprehensive documentation and deliver high-quality customer service, while also guiding apprentice mechanics.

Key Responsibilities :

• Utilize knowledge of gas compression packages, including panels, controls, instrumentation, and component life cycles, to optimize equipment run times.
• Interpret and understand flow sheets and technical drawings.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to startups, servicing, and warranty work.
• Provide diagnostic assessments and recommendations to the Service Coordinator and clients.
• Demonstrate expertise in mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics
• Independently perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work, often in remote locations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor issues.
• Ensure proper settings and adjustments are verified, including alignment, pull downs, rod run out, ESM, fuel gas pressure, crankcase pressure, flange torquing, and cooler checks.
• Prioritize unit repairs based on downtime, customer importance, potential losses, and efficient work methods.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Maintain detailed documentation of mechanical services, labor time, expenses, and parts orders.
• Provide guidance and direction to apprentice mechanics.

Qualifications :

• Must have Red Seal as a Millwright or Heavy-duty mechanic
• Over 5 years of experience within a hands-on industrial setting.
• Strong customer service abilities.
• Capability to work independently in remote locations.
• Experience with commissioning new packages is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office suite programs
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 25% of the time.
• Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills, with a talent for prioritization.
