JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, professional Administration Clerk to join us on a permanent basis at our Thunder Bay, ON facility.
Reporting to the Asset Manager for our Renewable Generation business, the Administration Clerk will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative support in such areas as correspondence, meeting arrangements / scheduling, time management, information maintenance and general office support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities are consistent with performing skilled clerical operations within a business office setting of an industrial environment.
Provide the following administrative services in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations :
- Accountable for the health, safety and well being of self and others, in accordance with technical / operating procedures and standards.
- As requested, answer general and specific inquiries from employees, and supervisors regarding administrative matters.
- Carry out various phases of document life cycle management according to established procedures, format and standard requirements, using computerized and manual tools.
- Operate and maintain various information systems and databases according to procedures, practices and verification measures, using a variety of business office applications, tools and equipment.
Prepare statistics and reports. Contribute to the development and implementation of existing systems.
Prepare and produce correspondence, reports, lists, presentations, using a variety of software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database management, flowcharts, graphics packages, etc.
Process and distribute controlled information within prescribed service level agreements. Provide orientation to other staff as required.
Provide administrative and general clerical services such as setting up and providing documentation for meetings, arranging logistics, etc.
Set and schedule priorities of activities relative to work projects and training.
- Purchasing and procurement for department including invoice maintenance.
- Travel arrangements and expense reporting.
EDUCATION
High school diploma, or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Software proficiency - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and SharePoint.
- 40 wpm keyboard skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Excellent knowledge of general office procedures and practices
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material and information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative
- Proven ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing office environments and assignment level
