Your Opportunity
As a Therapy Assistant you will perform safe and effective patient treatment interventions under the direction of Occupational & Physiotherapists in Acute Care and in Outpatients for various teams. You may assist in exercise and mobility programs, provide mobility aids, ADL training, therapeutic transfers, and conduct equipment maintenance and inspection.
Other duties include scheduling appointments, ordering equipment and supplies, managing inventory cleaning and maintenance, and preparing treatment areas.
Description
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist, or speech‑language pathologist.
You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services across the health care continuum for all ages, including direct and indirect client care, non‑client service provision, and internal / external partnerships. You will display professionalism and strong ethics in client‑centered care and participation in care teams.
You will demonstrate reflective thinking and lifelong learning, contributing to quality improvement, program planning, and student supervision.
