What you will be doing : As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide counselling to vulnerable children, youth, and their families in either our partner schools or in our main office.

This role encompasses both school-based work and also some more traditional in-office counselling work. You will collaborate with other service providers in a circle of support model for children and their families.

Work with individuals, couples, and families, including children and caregivers to heal from the effects of toxic stress and complex trauma Build relationships of trust with children, caregivers, teachers, administrators and other professionals Use a sound theoretical basis, in particular, short term therapy techniques, to provide service to clients for a wide range of issues Promote awareness of healthy brain development and effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Assist clients in connecting with community resources (assessment and referral) Support client advocacy and system navigation What you will bring to the role : Master's Degree or PhD in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Pastoral Counselling, or equivalent Three years formal counselling experience Experience with families is required Ability to work in a team environment Good verbal and written communication skills in English Computer literacy Background Check Process & Requirements : As a part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers.
