Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering in Ontario, the Director of Engineering is accountable and responsible for growing, leading and managing all aspects of the operations in their business unit.

This includes health and safety, field activities, productivity, sub-contractors, and client relationships.The Director is responsible for the full project cycle, starting from estimation through to project completion and for contributing to customer decisions regarding where to deploy and manage telecommunication infrastructure and deploy capital.

In conjunction with the Senior Director and the Vice President, the Director is responsible to develop and implement a business development and growth strategy for the business unit.

This position will be located in our Vaughan, Ontario office.Responsibilities : Commits and instills the highest standards of Health & Safety for all employees and partnersDevelops action plans in line with Telecon’s strategic deployment to meet short term and long-term objectives, profitability, and business growthAccountable for the performance and results of the business unit, while ensuring the business plan targets and the application is of sound governanceDemonstrates leadership by providing direction and coaching to team to achieve the financial and operational targets of their business unitIdentifies, develops and executes key performance indicators (KPI) for the businessActs as a change agent by inspiring and driving core company values such as health and safety, mastery in our line of business, and promoting teamworkWorks closely with other divisions and corporate groups (operations support, finance, human resources) to optimize resources and opportunities for growthMaintains effective communication with our partners, including customers, suppliers, and subcontractorsBuilds and maintains client relationships while developing new business opportunities through strong telecommunications networksEnsures projects are planned and executed on time and in budget.

This role will prepare monthly project analysis and regional performance report.Optimizes project productivities with regards to resources and equipment and participate in estimate preparationsDirects and leads the Supervisors and administration staff toward goals and objectivesEnsures financial KPI’s are followed and on target and proposes alternative solutions and actions when required.

This role will also establish and implement annual budget and measure monthly regional financial performanceResolve operational issuesManage general contracts and subcontractor’s contractsOversee contract management initiativesQualifications : 10+ years of relevant industry experience with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in leading business operations at a regional level with direct P&L responsibilityMinimum of 10 years of experience in the Cableco and Telecom sectors, with a strong understanding of market requirements and experience in market penetrationExceptional experience in executing and driving growth by using a sustained strategic focus, discipline and process orientationBachelor’s degree in a relevant fieldProfessional designation in Engineering (P.

Eng) considered an assetHighly effective communicator and proven manager of changeDemonstrated ability to manage sub-contractors and other relevant partnershipsIS THIS YOU?
