Role Description
Reporting to the Divisional Director of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources will be a key senior member of the leadership team at NBM Railways.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving and leading the strategic alignment of HR operations, talent management, and employee engagement.
You will also regularly partner with leaders across the business to achieve exceptional performance through progressive HR strategies and programs.

Your responsibilities will include :
- Partner with the Divisional Director of Human Resources, the General Manager of NBM Railways and other key leaders in the business and the human resources team to identify, develop, and execute human resources strategies, programs, and processes;
- Lead and execute recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to ensure the company is staffed adequately at all times;
- Coach and develop HR professionals who serve as the primary point of contact with employees, leaders, shared services, and external contacts on any and all human resources matters;
- Oversee the rollout of critical HR programs (attraction & retention, workforce planning, performance management, leadership development, compensation, employee engagement, etc);
- Anticipate business needs and provide Human Resources leadership, solutions, & coaching;
- Contribute to and help build a positive culture that fosters accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications include :
- 10+ years’ experience in progressive Human Resources roles, including strong leadership experience;
- Post-secondary education, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline with relevant experience will also be considered;
- CPHR designation would be considered a strong asset;
- Depth of Generalist HR experience, covering a variety of HR competency areas;
- A demonstrated track record of leading highly engaged teams, ideally with some experience working with non-salaried employees;
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and teams, both internal and external, to achieve required objectives;
- Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills;
- A high degree of self-motivation, enthusiasm, professionalism, and business acumen.
