Power BI Integration Specialist

Location : Remote - Anywhere in Canada OR Hybrid

Empire life is looking to hire a Power BI Integration Specialist to join our Data Analytics team! As a Power BI Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Power BI solutions to meet business requirements.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs to aid in the design and implementation of moderately complex to complex data models, connecting data from diverse sources.

This role involves integrating Power BI with various data sources, optimizing data models, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

What you’ll be working on

Design and implement processes to integrate data from various sources into Power BI

Develop automated data pipelines to ensure accurate and timely data availability for reporting

Develop and maintain robust data models for analytics and reporting

Optimize data models to improve performance of Power BI dashboards

Provide training and support to business users on using Power BI tools effectively

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI implementations

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data insights needed for decision-making

Work closely with IT and business teams to ensure that the BI solutions align with business goals

Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner

Conduct rigorous testing and validation of BI tools and data to ensure accuracy

Implement best practices for BI development and maintain documentation for all processes

Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to meet the business requirements

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and customize visualizations accordingly

What we’re looking for you to have

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a BI role with a strong focus on Power BI

Experience leading and delivering business intelligence application solutions from specification through to end-user acceptance testing

Proven experience working with Power BI, DAX, M, and Power Query

Proficient in SQL and experience with data integration tools

Good understanding of database management and data warehousing principles

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Knowledge of ETL processes and tools

2-3 years experience with Life Insurance / Financial Services data

Basic experience in database administration is desirable

Basic experience in business process engineering and modeling is desirable

Working knowledge of GitHub, Jira and other DevOps tools

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field
