Primaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Security Supervisor to join our team at Marlborough Mall in Calgary, AB. - Please note this is a uniformed position and requires shift work (i.e. Tuesday‑Saturday, evenings, and weekends).
Role
As the Security Supervisor your primary responsibility is delivering outstanding customer service to all employees, patrons and tenants of the property by keeping all areas safe and secure. This position is a first responder to all security and medical calls at the property and is also responsible for the activities of all Security Officers at the location.
Daily supervision of Security Personnel, oversee scheduling requirements, security assignments, incident reporting, inspections and patrolsOversee and assist in monitoring CCTV, sensitive areas and controlled access pointsImmediately respond and assist with security & life safety related requests made by customers, tenants and employees including delivery of first aid, CPR or other medically necessary proceduresRespond immediately to emergencies and co‑ordinate activities in accordance with established and approved lawful policies and proceduresEnsure that proper procedures are observed to reporting of liability claims and completion of occurrence reportsTrain and ensure staff are in compliance, understanding and sign off with all log books, posted memos, brief books, instructions and policiesOversee staff operation and compliance of department computer and technical equipmentSupervise the use of memo books, uniforms and equipment. Monitor calls to dispatch and assist staff accordingly;Maintain communications with retail tenants, local law enforcement agencies local fire prevention personnel and local emergency medical services personnelHelp implementation of emergency procedures, disaster recovery plans, building access control, security systems, reports and recommendations;Requirement to perform shift work, including holidays and weekendsOther duties as assignedRequirements
College diploma in Police Foundations, Law Enforcement and / or Security AdministrationMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in retail environmentProven supervisory experienceClear Criminal Background check clearanceFamiliar with applicable health & safety legislation (eg. WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety)Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED & Oxygen AdministrationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a teamBe self‑motivated, diplomatic and confident individual in order to deal with tenants and the publicJoin us and play a vital role in providing outstanding experiences to our valued customers and tenants.
