Description
- Provide administrative support to the department.
- Assist clients with general inquiries, provide customer service at the counter, and make appointments.
- Process development, subdivision, and planning applications as outlined in the Land Use By-law; maintain follow-up procedure to ensure completion of process from application to final approval.
- Prepare, assemble, and distribute agenda packages for regular and special meetings of the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) and Economic Development Committee. Attend meetings in the capacity of recording secretary, prepare draft meeting minutes and distribute as part of agenda packages. Organize setup that is needed and keep an accurate attendance record. Undertake and / or assist with follow-up to these meetings as directed.
- Review and prepare documents as required by the County’s Land Use By-Law.
- Maintain and update all databases and records for development permits, compliance certificates, subdivision applications, Land Use By-Law amendments, road closures, and IDP or ASPs etc.
- Know how to obtain and file information in County File System and ensure that information is kept secure and confidential.
- Ensure master copies of the Land Use By-Law & Municipal Development Plan (and other master planning documents) are kept current with all amendments and that all appropriate individuals and stakeholders are informed of amendments. Ensure that copies are available for the public.
- Ensure all department forms are updated as requested.
- Ensure that Civic Web information is being used and updated as necessary.
- Locate legal land locations, read aerial photos and assist with zoning inquiries.
- Enter and review data from the Safety Code Permit reports received from the City of Camrose to ensure necessary Development Permits have been issued.
- Digitize records for the department.
- Maintain current knowledge of WebMap, CivicWeb, Spin II, Citywide, Bludot, Canva, Microsoft Office and other programs necessary in the completion of the job.
- Update the event calendar, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), website, and social media platforms.
- Help organize events.
- Contact businesses to collect information for Economic Development.
- Maintain a current Commissioner of Oaths status.
- Comply with Access to Information Act (ATIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and maintain confidentiality.
- Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
