MAIN TASKS
- Manage noise and vibration projects mainly in sectors such as industrial, environmental, transportation (road, rail, air, etc.) etc.;
- Perform field noise and vibration measurements;
- Post-process and analyze measurements using Soft dB’s in-house software modules and other tools;
- Model sound propagation using specialized acoustical software (Cadna, Rap-One II, etc.);
- Write proposals, technical reports and presentations;
- Manage the inventory of instruments;
- Liaise with clients, lead client meetings;
- Participate in site visits, facilities or other out-of-office field work. Field work will be a significant portion of the work to be performed
- Participate in the management and maintenance of material inventories for the monitoring division;
- Participate in business development and obtaining new projects in collaboration with Soft dB's directors;
Note : This position involves a significant amount of manual field work, including tracking, installation and maintenance of monitoring stations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor level or higher in an engineering discipline;
- Professional status as a Professional Engineer, P.Eng. (an asset);
- 2 or more years of experience in acoustical and / or vibration engineering;
- Experience in monitoring an asset
- Knowledge of acoustics, wave propagation and vibration;
- Knowledge in instrumentation / acoustic measurements and vibration;
- Mastery of typical basic office software, Microsoft Office and computer tools in general;
- Independent, proactive, open-minded, reliable, detail-oriented, flexible, strong sense of responsibility and good communication skills;
- Business development skills (an asset);
- Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle (to be used to meet clients or conduct site visits).
